NEW DELHI: Chief Economic Adviser KV Subramanian said on Friday that he would step down following the completion of his three-year tenure.
“I have decided to return back to academia,” he said in a statement.

“Serving The Nation has been an absolute privilege and I have wonderful support and encouragement,” he said.
He said he has received tremendous support from the government and have been fortunate to enjoy a warm relationship with senior functionaries.
“I am yet to encounter a more inspiring leader than PM Modi. His intuitive understanding of economic policy combines with an unmistakeable determination to use the same to elevate the lives of common citizens,” he said.
